Beautiful hike to the bird cliff on Runde - the focus was on the puffins. After an extremely steep climb, which is paved, we follow a well-paved hiking trail to the bird cliff, where the puffins have their breeding grounds. The best time is from 6 p.m. onwards, as this is when they return from the sea and feed their young. We were able to observe several puffins with fish in their beaks.

Good 👟 shoe work recommended. Partly steep and rocky.

Sukkertoppen summit 314 meters A bit strenuous, but you are rewarded with a great view.

The lighthouse was opened in 1876 and is 26 meters high. You can go up. The stairs are very steep and narrow (approx. 100). Only 25 people are allowed on the tower at the same time. Next door there is a visitor center which is very large and modern.

Alnes is a small village in the municipality of Giske. It is located on the north side of the island of Godoya, about 4 kilometers northwest of the village of Leitebakk. The rest of the islanders live on the southern half of the island, which is separated by a large mountain.
