Salen, the local mountain, rises some 86 meters above the city center of Hammerfest. From up here, you have a wonderful panoramic view of Europe's northernmost city, overlooking the city center, the harbor, and Hammerfest Church.

Between the 15th May and the 31st July, Hammerfest enjoys the Midnight Sun, with continuous daylight lasting even longer. The city claims to be the northernmost in the world. Who wouldn't want to claim to have run in such a place?

Jansvannsskogen is the only area of woodland in Hammerfest. Nestled in a sheltered hollow, it's a particular highlight for those exploring the Gammelveien path.

You can become a member of the Polar Bear Club for €20. Then a meeting of club members takes place once a year in Hammerfest

Zigzag on the road At the end of the road is the original property, which was converted into a road in 1893. Can be walked even if you are afraid of heights. In my opinion it is even suitable for a stroller, but it will be strenuous.
