Very worth seeing, definitely make a stop

Lovingly designed natural pool with a diving board, a beautiful sunbathing area and a snack bar. There is also a rest area right by the lake on the cycle path that leads past it.

Built around 1578 by the then owner of the castle. Soldiers from the French wars are said to have been buried near the chapel. Allegedly, there were also healings of paralytics who left their crutches at the chapel.

The "Anderlkapelle" and its history On November 4, 1875, near Schwarzenau, at the Stegersbacher Bridge, a serious railway accident occurs. On a pitch dark and foggy night, the night train from Vienna to Eger derailed just before 2 a.m. 13 wagons fell, 8 people were killed and many injured. The authorities found the cause of the accident to be a track that was artfully detached with criminal intent just before the bridge, but no culprit. Only the last car remains on the rails. Here, along with other passengers, is the master blacksmith Franz Anderl (July 18, 1832 - January 28, 1889) from Vitis, who has the "Anderl Chapel" built in this place as thanks for the happy salvation. It was only at the deathbed that the railroad attendant at the time admitted to having loosened the rail. If rail accidents were prevented, there would be a bonus and possible promotion. His stop signals were unfortunately not seen by the train crew in the dark of night. You can find more information in "Vitis - our home", edition 1989.
