The town hall, old fire station and cathedral all share the same square, making this a good spot to get a feel for the city’s centre.

The Kilden Theatre and Concert Hall for Southern Norway is organized through the merger of four institutions: the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the Kilden Theatre, the Kilden Opera, and Kilden Culture. Kilden consists of a symphony orchestra, a regional theatre, a regional opera, a municipal cultural centre, and a centre of excellence for participatory arts, Kilden Dialog.

If you're in Kristiansand, you should check out the old town. Beautiful old Norwegian houses that are very well preserved and look beautiful.

When visiting Kristiansand, a lovely walk through the old district of Posebyen with its historic, white-painted houses should not be missed.

Norway's 8th longest river, the Otra empties into the sea at Kristiansand. There's some great running to be had on its banks in the Kristiansand region. The Otra Elvepart, to the northwest of the city, is a fine example.
