Pejačević Castle is located in the center of Virovitica, built on the site of a former medieval fortress. It is one of a series of Slavonian castles of the famous Pejačević noble family

In its northern part, Orahovica is open to the plains, and in its southwestern part it borders the slopes of Papuk and Krndije, that is, the Papuk Nature Park.

The historicist palace from the 19th century bears witness to Virovitica as a trading center, which is most directly evidenced by the statue of Mercury, the Roman god of trade, located on the building of the savings bank.

The complex was created in the second half of the 18th century and therefore bears all the characteristics of elegant and energetic baroque. The interior of the church is decorated with the main and side altars with rich baroque ornamentation and a monumental organ. The original furniture has been preserved in the sacristy, while the refectory is one of the most solemn preserved Baroque spaces in the region. Since 2011, the Franciscan Museum has been operating within the complex with a collection consisting of tens of thousands of items of church dishes, vestments, furniture, paintings and sculptures, and a rich library.

Papuk is full of forest roads, macadams, paths, on which you can also ride a bicycle. Just carefully and without destroying nature.
