Melanakken is a superb objective for an adventurous run. The steep pull up to the summit rewards with excellent views across Åfjord and beyond – a picture of fjords, peninsulas and islands.

Possible camping spot right next to the Austdalsveien. There is a very weathered picnic bench with a table. This camping spot is more practical as it is close to the road. However, I could not find any other camping spot on this stretch of road. So this might help.

As usual, there is no summit cross at the highest point in Norway. The view is still phenomenal.

The long church style church dates back to the 12th century. It offers space for 300 people and is surrounded by a cemetery. It is located within sight of the Trondheimfjord on the outskirts of Brekstad.
