Jardinet Abbey is a Cistercian monastery founded in 1232 by Thierry II de Walcourt, inspired by a miraculous event involving a statue of the Virgin Mary. The abbey was first inhabited by nuns, then by monks, who led a reform movement in the 15th and 16th centuries. Unfortunately, the abbey was destroyed by the French Revolution in 1793, and only the entrance portal remains today. You will be able to admire the architecture of the portal, listed as heritage, and imagine the life of the monks and nuns who lived there.

Nice walk, but impossible to do the complete loop, private road, closed by barbed wire at the exit of Bousignies sur Roc towards Montignies Saint Christophe.. too bad
