Noravank is considered one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia. Reddish facades, reddish stone - in the warm red light of the setting sun, the monastery is almost indistinguishable from its rocky surroundings. The architectural subtleties of the Armenian architecture of the 13th century and also magnificent reliefs give the monastery a special beauty. The churches of St. Karapet (Church of the Baptist), St. Luzavoritsch (Gregory the Illuminator) and the two-story Church of Our Lady form the monastery complex. Parking lot for buses and cars, mostly much fuller than visible in the photo. It also has stalls selling dried fruit and locally produced sweet bread.

The church is unique in a sense that it's the only one in Armenia where the army was blessed while sitting on their horses, hence the three high arches. Possibly for that reason too, the church has an open structure unlike other Armenian churches.
