Hougoumont 성 또는 농가는 워털루 전투에서 중요한 역할을 했습니다. 농가 옆에는 전투 당시의 총알 자국을 볼 수 있는 밤나무가 아직도 서 있습니다. 1815 박물관과 함께 농가를 방문할 수 있습니다.

After the Battle, most of Hougoumont's buildings were destroyed or set on fire. The walls of some of the buildings of the complex that had survived were riddled with shrapnel and bullet holes. The condition of the trees was appalling: torn branches and leaves, trunks torn apart. Little more than a ruin remained of the castle and it was of course uninhabitable. All that remains now are the foundations.
