Damme's must-see is the robust Church of Our Lady with its characteristic flat tower. From April to September, you can climb its 206 steps for a magnificent panorama. You'll have a phenomenal view of the 17th-century city walls, the Damse Vaart canal, and the expansive polder landscape.

The old bridge keeper's house in Damme is home to Belgium's smallest candy house. It's filled with nostalgic treats! A paradise for those with a sweet tooth. Opening hours: Saturdays and Sundays only, from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

The Poetry Walking Trail was one of the many initiatives realized by Jan Moeyaert and his IJsberg Foundation. The new Poetry Walking Trail (2025) is a collaboration between the City of Damme and the Diogenes bookstore. Curators Bertine Warlop and Willy Tibergien selected ten poems by ten Flemish poets.
