It is a limestone building located in the middle of a park in the Biesme valley, which feeds the moat. Of the vast fortified quadrangle dating back to the late 16th or early 17th century, only an isolated northwest tower and two wings to the east and south remain, extensively transformed in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Pleasant path, some openings allow you to glimpse the body of water of the Carrière de Sébastopol.

Charleroi district is worth it

The Saracens Cave (or Hole) is located on the right bank of the Fond des Haies stream. There are several entrances, but access is narrow and limited. It is far less impressive than some of the caves in the Ardennes or Namur region, but it still has its charm. The small paths leading to it can be dangerous without sturdy footwear or in wet weather.

The Château d'Acoz, located in the picturesque village of Acoz in the province of Hainaut, dates from the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century. Originally built by the De Marotte family, the castle has a rich history and has had several owners, including the Pirmez family. Today it is a private residence, but it remains an impressive sight with its moat fed by the Biesme and its imposing 16th century tower. The castle has an austere appearance, but is a special place with an atmospheric setting.

Nice outing and the cherry on the cake at the height of Gylly Sart Allet in the old railway station there is a RAVEL relay with refreshment bar and bike rental + repair. Thirty meters from there, I lost the fixing bolt of my left pedal (My bike is over 35 years old) and the bike shop at the relay gave me the bolt and replaced the pedal for free. A fact that deserves to be highlighted.

The Verger Namèche is an old orchard surrounded by woods (Bois de Fromont and also near the Bois de Joncret). The path to get there is not very technical but can be quite muddy in wet weather in which case you will need good waterproof shoes. This peaceful place is on an interesting link between Loverval and Chamborgneau. Note that there is another path a little further north.
