Yes and no. If you cycle the Watermill Route, you do have to stop for a while, but we can't speak of any "industrial" beauty here.

The Watermolenroute follows the Leberg downhill. A beautiful descent in contrast to the challenging climb.

Beautiful and quiet climb

The Oudenaarde courthouse is an imposing neo-Gothic complex from the interwar period, built between 1922 and 1925 to a design by architect Henri Valcke. The style deliberately references Brabant Gothic, allowing the building to blend seamlessly with the city's historic architecture. The courthouse stands on the site of the former monastery of Sion, which was destroyed by fire in 1745.

It's a truly unique hill. It is a bit small though, so if you get cars from any direction, be careful.

The original church was built in the 11th century as a hall church using Tournai stone. • In the 12th century, it was expanded to the west. • Around the end of the 13th century, a new choir made of Balegem stone was added. • In 1593, the church was even used as a fortress, after which restoration work was carried out. • In 1656, a sacristy was added. • A major restoration took place in 1892-1893, during which the Leuven architect Joseph François Piscador designed a neo-Gothic west façade.
