The Myriapode is an important land art piece near Ellezelles in Walloon Picard. It is a structure 4.5 meters high and 11.6 meters long, made of woven wood. Inspired by the shape of a centipede, it fits perfectly into the forest landscape. The artwork serves as a place of rest and reflection for walkers and cyclists on the RAVeL and offers elevated seating and shelter. The artwork is part of a series of six landscape artworks installed in the Pays des Collines in June 2023. The ensemble was realized by the collective Bowerbird (Wolfgang Bregentzer & Bram Vanhoff) in collaboration with JNC International, as part of European INTERREG projects.

The Deux-Acren lock is the last one before the Dender River enters Flanders. After both Geraardsbergen and the upstream Walloon village of Deux-Acren were hit by a devastating flood in 2010 (which even claimed one life), plans were drawn up to carry out flood protection works on the Dender. Progress in Wallonia progressed faster than in Flanders: the dam works in Deux-Acren were completed in 2017.

St. Martin's Church is the only remaining of what were once two churches in the municipality of Deux-Acren, which—as the name clearly indicates—was an early (1804) merger of two municipalities, Acren-St. Martin and Acren-St. Gereon. Twenty years later, the two parishes also merged, and St. Martin's Church became the parish church. In 1828, St. Gereon's Church was demolished to make way for the cemetery. St. Martin's Church bears two roosters as a reminder, the symbol of the two original parishes. Between 1869 and 1871, the church was restored and enlarged. The Gothic building consists of a tower, the only remaining example of the 13th-century construction. The nave dates from the 14th and 16th centuries. It has two aisles, the last bay of which resembles a transept. The church also boasts a 14th-century choir and a stunning portal under a Mansart roof. The building's interior is equally impressive.
