Four crew members managed to parachute out, but one of them did not survive. The pilot, with great courage, steered the damaged aircraft away from the village to avoid disaster and it crashed in a meadow, sacrificing his life and that of the three other men on board. At the crash site, a cross commemorates this event. Next to the cross, there is an explanatory sign with photos and text. An identical sign is located near a memorial just a few hundred meters away, next to the cemetery. This memorial honors the sacrifices and courage of the crew. Crossing the Condroz, the Hoyoux rises in Buzin, a village in the municipality of Havelange, at an altitude of almost 300 metres.
