A pleasant cycling path where you can enjoy each other's company, each at your own pace. Please note that it can get busy here at times. Courtesy is key. Info: The Bruges-Ostend Canal is a canal in Belgium. It runs from Bruges to Ostend. In Bruges, it connects via the Ringvaart to the Ghent-Bruges Canal, the Damse Vaart Canal, and the Baudouin Canal. Between Oudenburg and Ostend, it connects to the Plassendale-Nieuwpoort Canal. The canal is 20.9 km long and is part of the coastal basin. The impressive artwork consists of a tall penny-farthing (an old bicycle with a large front wheel and a small rear wheel) with a Belle Époque figure on top. Its total height is 4.5 meters. The freestanding sculpture consists of a metal and wooden frame, covered with chicken wire and straw, and finished with jute and rope.
