The chapel of Santa Caterina is a national monument of Italy, located at the entrance to Conversano - an Apulian city of ancient origin. Some historians support the thesis that it was created around the mid-11th century and is dedicated to the Christian martyr Catherine of Alexandria - a saint of the Catholic and Orthodox Church, whose cult spread to Puglia at that time. Other historians support the thesis that the chapel was built by Count Giulio Antonio Acquaviva in the mid-15th century, and the building itself was an act of tribute and affection for his wife, Caterina Orsini Del Balzo. The dating of the building, consistent with these concepts, places its construction in different historical times, 4 centuries, 400 years apart!

The Pane e Pomodoro beach gives its name to the two most important Bari ingredients. In fact, it refers to the Bari tradition that those who go to the beach bring with them focaccia with cherry tomatoes. It is a free beach and is full of fun overlooking the port of Bari.
