Very cool in summer

Reno Ice House: Dating back to the end of the eighteenth century and used until a hundred years ago, the ice house is characterized by its curious and particular “truncated cone” structure, with a stone base and a thatched roof, with two entrances – the main one between two stone buttresses and the lateral one, more raised – and is preceded by a small artificial lake once used to store the river water to be frozen.

A Catholic building kept in excellent condition.

A little pearl in the heart of Popiglio. This church, simple on the outside but rich in history and art on the inside, deserves a stop. Inside there are works that tell centuries of devotion, in a quiet and intimate atmosphere that invites you to slow down for a moment. Next to the church there is a point from which a beautiful view opens up over the Lima valley. Excellent place for a break, some photos and maybe a snack.

It marks the border between Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, if you are lucky you can see a small strip of sea between two mountains on the horizon

The road has only quite little traffic (with some trucks going). The railroad has very low traffic, it might be hard to spot a train. If you like to trainspot, the bicycle must be parked somewhat away.

Excellent starting point for many of the surrounding trails. It is not always reachable by car, but you can always park at Capanna Tassoni or Budale and continue on foot. There is also a monument to the Alpine troops nearby
