Once you leave the small village of houses, you enter the forest path that runs alongside the stream.

The Ferriere suspension bridge in San Marcello Pistoiese is a tourist attraction located in the valley of the Lima stream, in the province of Pistoia, in Tuscany. The bridge, built in the 19th century, is characterized by a suspended structure that crosses the valley offering a breathtaking panoramic view. The bridge has an interesting history: it was originally used to allow local ironworks workers to cross the Lima stream to reach their workplace. Over the years, it has become an icon of the area and a popular tourist attraction. The bridge has been restored and maintained over the years to ensure its safety and accessibility to visitors.

The Ferriere suspension bridge is a pedestrian walkway that joins the two sides of the Lima stream between Mammiano Basso and Popiglio. Inaugurated in June 1923, the bridge is 227 meters long, reaches a maximum height of 36 meters above the river bed and has a width of 80 centimetres. Although it no longer holds the world record, it is still the longest suspension bridge in Italy.

At the top of the hill is this beautiful little village. There are some fountains where you can fill your water bottle.

The source of the river Rhine is located at an altitude of about a thousand meters. The river has its source here in Tuscany, and after 212 kilometers it flows into the Adriatic, about three kilometers north of Casal Borsetti. Above the source there is a natural terrace surrounded by beech and chestnut trees, suitable as a picnic area, where you can stop and admire the fountain fed by the waters of the river.
