The Tenente Giuseppe Fabbro refuge, located at an altitude of 1,783 metres, is located on the Razzo plateau, near the Ciampigotto saddle. The building, made of exposed rough-hewn stone blocks, with wooden floors and roofing, is designed on two floors and is set against the living rock. The ground floor currently houses an exhibition space, while the first floor is not accessible. The walls of the ground floor have a stone-level plastering on the outside, while the upper ones are finished with joints of cement mortar riveted with iron. On the front, the eleven windows and three doors have wooden frames and ledges. The single-sloped roof is finished with a sheet metal covering. The Tenente Giuseppe Fabbro refuge (1783 m above sea level) is located next to the road that leads from Laggio to the Forcella di Lavardet, about 500 meters east of the Sella di Ciampigotto, among large expanses of rhododendrons, blueberries and pines, with fascinating panoramic views on the Val Frison and the peaks that surround it, among others the Brentoni and the Terza Grande. It is a base along the Alta Via delle Dolomiti n. 6 and for restful walks and beautiful excursions on equipped alpine paths and routes. Trekking e-bike tour from Val Pesarina recommended, shop in the rifugio after 1200 meters of altitude from Prato. Overnight was there in Casa del Popolo. Departure to Sauris is a dream.
