A stretch of the Appian Way and some Roman remains are visible

There is a well-preserved stretch of Appia Antica. The park is not very large and is located in front of the cemetery of Mondragone. The archaeological site is not always open.

The route I was following downloaded from Komoot (and Garmin Connect) is interrupted by fallen trees and thick vegetation. Following the path that deviates to the right you rejoin the original route after a short while

‼️‼️ The path that until this point is pleasant turns into a very rough trekking path and is full of dead fallen trees. The sum of these two things forces you to get off the bike and do the segment with the bike on your shoulder.

Nice panoramic point from which to observe the sea and Mondragone.

From here you can see very well the southern slope of Monte Petrino (412 meters), and you can also see a part of the Rocca Montis Dragone.

Monte Petrino is a relief that is 412 meters high. At the top is the medieval fortress "Rocca Montis Dragonis". From here the view of the sea and of Mondragone is beautiful.

Falciano del Massico is an Italian municipality located at an altitude of 70 m. For naturalists, the WWF oasis of Monte Massico and the natural reserve of Lake Falciano are of interest. There is a railway station outside the town (Falciano-Mondragone-Carinola).
