Bianello Castle, located on the Bianello hill in Quattro Castella, Reggio Emilia, is an ancient historical residence linked to Matilda of Canossa. Built in the year 10, it has hosted illustrious figures such as Henry IV and various popes. The only one of the four castles in the area to have reached us intact, the castle can be visited with a guide, and the interior, although furnished with antique non-medieval furniture, preserves frescoes, noble coats of arms and coffered ceilings.

The bust (a copy, the original has been taken to the cultural center because of various damages and is on display there) of the Russian revolutionary was donated to the city of Cavriago by the Soviet embassy on the occasion of Lenin's 100th birthday on April 19, 1970. The bust was originally made in 1922 in the Ukrainian city of Lugansk for the local Communist Party headquarters. In 1942 it became war booty of Italian troops, who brought it to Italy. There it was given a label indicating its origin (which is still on the bust today). After liberation it was found in Tuscany and handed over to the Soviet embassy.
