Sigmundskron Castle is located south of Bolzano, above the Adige River. The castle has changed hands and names several times over the centuries. Before Sigmundskron, the castle was called Firmian. The current owner, Reinhold Messner, also calls the castle ruins that, more precisely MMM Firmian (Messner Mountain Museum). The MMM is a project with six locations in Tyrol.

There's only one place in South Tyrol where so many things are forbidden, and that's right here, at the Langfenn Inn with its small church and hotel, complete with a playground. You turn the corner, on foot, by bike, or any other way, and you're bombarded with prohibition signs. There are prohibition signs on every tree, every pole, and every conceivable attachment point. The view from the highest point of the Salten is sensational and unique in every direction!
