Excerpts from Wiki... "The site on which the town of Polizzi Generosa stands has been frequented since the 6th century BC. It was a prosperous Arab center for almost two centuries. The toponym Polizzi, of Greek origin (at least Byzantine), derives from a compound toponym ending in Polis (city), as emerged from Norman documentation which presents the spellings Polis, Polic, etc., Latinized in Politium and Policium. The name "Generosa" was granted by Frederick II, impressed by the excellent welcome he received. In 1863 with RD n. 1218, this denomination was made official."

The lookout offers a panoramic view of the Tyrrhenian coast from Campofelice di Roccella to Palermo. The "Al Belvedere" café and pastry shop are also nearby, perfect for a bite to eat.

Municipality of around 3,000 inhabitants located in the southern area of the Madonie park, Polizzi Generosa is known for the sfoglio, a typical dessert invented in the 16th century by the Benedictine nuns in honor of the feast of San Benedetto, and for being the only municipality in the area to boast specimens of fir trees. Worth visiting here are the church of Santa Maria Assunta and the abbey of Santa Croce, inside which there are some Byzantine frescoes.

Municipality of around 8,000 inhabitants, Castelbuono is located between Isnello and San Mauro Castelverde, in the Madonie park. It boasts numerous churches and at least two places of absolute interest: the Ventimiglia castle and the fountain of Venus Ciprea. Furthermore, during the first or second week of August, the Ypsigrock festival takes place, born in 1997 and which has become an important music festival.

Municipality in the province of Palermo and within the Madonie park, Isnello presents an area dotted with karst phenomena that create various caves and cavities. The origin of the name Isnello is uncertain: it could derive from the Syriac term hassin ("cold river"), from the Punic hassinor ("stream that flows in a tube-shaped bed") or from the Greek asines ("the harmlessness of the stream "). Several relatively important waterways, in fact, cross the Isnello territory. Furthermore, since 2016 there has been a Center for research, teaching and dissemination of astronomical sciences here, which was given the name GAL Hassin, a play on words between galaxy and the ancient name of the territory. One of the capitals of the Madonie park, Collesano is home to the museum dedicated to the Targa Florio car competition, suppressed in the seventies, of which it was one of the main passages. Of particular interest are also St. Peter's Basilica, the archaeological and environmental site of Monte d'Oro and the medieval castle.
