Unfortunately, not much remains of the temple. If you're already there, you can take a look. But it's not worth making a special trip just for it.

I actually expected more ancient sites in Syracuse, so I'm particularly pleased about these artifacts, as most of the sights date from much later eras.

The ruins of the Temple of Apollo are one of the first sights encountered upon entering Ortigia, the oldest part of the city of Syracuse. It is of great importance as it marks the transition from wooden to stone construction of temples in Sicily.

Ortygia welcomes visitors to the island with the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, dating back to the early 6th century BC. Originally a Christian basilica, it was used by the Arabs as a mosque and converted back into a Christian church by the Normans. You can admire the archaeological site from the outside, as the interior is closed to the public.

Beautiful place both for the view and for the paths immersed in the greenery. I recommend following the trail of the Gria stream.
