Beautiful pond for relaxing

St. Peterzell belongs to the municipality of Neckertal and is a popular rest stop on the Swiss section of the Way of St. James. Those who enjoy cycling over longer, not-too-steep routes will find this a suitable starting point.

The baroque old town boasts sights such as the town hall, built between 1747 and 1750, with its rich Rococo decorations, and the 14th-century Church of St. Pelagius. The Thur Bridge, built in 1487, is one of the most important late medieval bridges in Switzerland. In the 9th century, Bischofszell was given the name Episcopalicella by its founder, Bishop Salomo. This translates as "the bishop's cell." Bischofszell Castle was the bishop's castle and dates back to the 13th century.

Pedalling across the bridge, you’ll discover stunning views of the valley, which makes a great backdrop for a quick photoshoot. The River Sitter is known for its clear waters and diverse wildlife, making it a popular spot for nature lovers.

Beautiful town, beautiful church

The municipality of St. Peterzell is located in the hilly Toggenburg. There are a few traditional half-timbered houses along the main street. Food is available in a few restaurants or in the village shop.
