Montorfano is a small village named after the mountain that overlooks it, a limestone outcrop so named because it rises isolated from the pre-Alpine mountain range behind it. Legend has it that the tears of the mountain, shed for its solitude, gave rise to a body of water, Lake Montorfano, one of the smaller lakes in Brianza.

One of the most beautiful climbs in the lower Brianza area, leading to the village of Paù and then Giovenzana. Those with the right legs can also continue to the Hermitage of San Genesio.

Since the Madonna de Ghisallo is officially the patron saint of racing cyclists, the Passo Ghisallo is a monument to the Tour of Lombardy and the Giro d'Italia, and also, in general, because it is a wonderful place with a very beautiful climb, you should definitely go up here on your racing bike.
