The Swiss National Cycling Route from Langenthal to Huttwil is an excellent cycleway on smooth asphalted surface. One rides on the path which snakes around the valley and always offering a nice change of sec energy.

Swiss National Route 71 is an excellent cycle way with mainly very smooth asphalted surface. The route follows the railway line from Langenthal to Luzern. This route is generally good for families with children or people who do not do a lot of cycling, as well as the experienced road cyclist who just wants to ride at high speeds. If one becomes tired at anytime, there is always a railway line next to the path to take you home easily.

From this point until the village of Bollodingen, the road turns into a gravel road. I would advise road cyclists to avoid this stretch of gravel and take the detour to the village of Hermiswil and ride on the busy road between Hermiswil and Bollodingen. The road on itself is of a smooth asphalted surface with no holes but during the morning and evening rush hour, this road has a lot of heavy traffic.

This cycleway provides a great alternative to avoid to the heavy rush hour traffic between Burgdorf and Langenthal on the main road, however for road bikes there is a small section where road cyclists have to take the main road to avoid a stretch of gravel road.

From the outside it is not obvious that there is a wonderful garden hidden behind the restaurant (which is also a hotel).
