The Carpaneta Forest arises like a green lung reborn from the innovative vision of the Region, where 43 hectares of native forest blend with spaces dedicated to rest and learning. This oasis of biodiversity not only regenerates the Po landscape but also tells the stories and traditions of the Mantua area, inviting visitors on a sensory journey among ancient English oaks and recreational itineraries.

Governolo, silent guardian of centuries of history, stood as a fortified bastion of the Gonzaga family, watching over the water crossroads of the Po and Mincio. In this vital hub of passages and trade, the Gonzaga family exercised their control, while Dante, with his immortal pen, fixed Governolo in the collective memory in the XX canto of the Inferno.

governolo was the fortified gate of Mantua by the Gonzaga family. Located in a strategic point between the Po and the Mincio, here, the navigation of the two rivers was controlled. It is also mentioned by Dante in the XX canto of the Inferno: "Sits Peschiera, beautiful and strong tool to face Bresciani and Bergamaschi, where the shore around it descends more.
