St. Mary's Pilgrimage Church The hall church was built between 1697 and 1699. It consists of a nave, a recessed, three-sided choir to the north, and the church tower on the east wall of the nave in front of the choir. The lower floors of the ashlar masonry date back to the 12th-century Romanesque choir tower. A plastered storey was added to the church tower in the 19th century, housing the clock tower and the belfry, and is topped with a pointed spire. The interior of the three-axled nave is spanned by a lunette vault, whose transverse arches rest on pilasters. The early Baroque high altar, dating from the 17th century, impresses with its balance and outstanding craftsmanship. It depicts Mary with the Christ Child, Joachim, Anne, the Holy Trinity, and several angels. The beautifully designed pulpit, featuring the Archangel Michael, was created around 1700, along with other figures. The restoration restored the two-story gallery to its original Baroque appearance. The two side altars are already Rococo in style. The attractive choir stalls are striking in their beautiful Rococo shellwork. A special feature is the figure of the Sorrowful Virgin Mary, to the right of the pulpit, in a blue robe. This type of crucifix dates back to a depiction in the Cathedral of Lucca, Italy. The ceiling paintings were created in 1798. In 1914, the current sacristy was rebuilt. One year later, a new organ was purchased, retaining the historic facade. Also during this period, the entire church received a neo-Baroque design, which characterized the appearance of St. Mary's Church until 1971. In 1917, the parish was elevated to a branch, thus regaining the ecclesiastical rights that had been lost over the centuries. The last renovation took place between 2001 and 2004.
