Very nice, shady forest path to the Cava dei Servi. Very easy to walk and almost no incline, sneakers are sufficient. Parking is a bit difficult on this side. Parking is easier at the northern entrance coming from San Giacomo.

There is no real path. You walk through the rubble in the riverbed. Good coordination and sturdy shoes are an advantage.

The Tellesimo river in this stretch is present with small "urvi" because in various stretches it channels underground and then emerges further downstream. almost like a torrent

The caves and some of the houses were inhabited at least until the 1950s and 1960s. Be careful, there is a risk of falling rocks. The path is not marked but a trail is visible. It is best to wear long trousers and high hiking boots as it is very overgrown.

Over three floors you will find houses, stables and cisterns hewn into the rock. There are information panels and a paved path. In the castle itself you can climb around and enjoy the rooms and the view. The last residents left in the 1950s.
