The church is located in Piazza Carlo Alberto in Catania. It is the third largest church in the city after the Cathedral of Sant'Agata and the Church of San Nicolò l'Arena. The original church was destroyed in the 1693 earthquake and rebuilt in 1729. The Baroque façade is divided into three sections by two massive half-columns, and in the center, above the portal, is a statue of the Madonna del Carmine. Source: Google AI

Rubber trees are found in every major city in Sicily. They provide shade and noticeable cooling on very hot summer days.

A dilemma: as a building it's magnificent, but I find its purpose questionable... I would value a university or library more.
