The Swiss National Cycling Route 77 takes one from the Rhine River in the North, all the way South to the foot of the Gotthard pass. The surface is an smooth asphalted surface, changing between low traffic roads, separate cyclways and combination of road separated with dotted lines. Route 77 has one place just near Hermitschwil, where it is Champagne gravel, still doable with a roadbike but one must go slow.

This excellent cycling path provides cyclist a viable alternative to the main highway leading in and out of Baden from the South side. The surface is made of excellent smooth asphalt. The only negative part of this is on the weekend, when there can be a lot of pedestrian traffic.
