San Leo Castle

Due to restoration work (and expansion?) the structure is not usable, and besides the cloister has almost always been closed; however the walk is beautiful, both from the "low" path and from the Biforca.

The fort of San Leo thus took on an emblematic meaning, so much so that Bembo defined them as "a very strong fort and admirable tool of war", an admirable meeting point between nature and art.

The Porta di Sopra is the only access to the historic center of San Leo, a charming village located in the province of Rimini, in the Emilia-Romagna region. When we visited, in the summer of 2023, preparations were being made for a wedding at the castle, it is very romantic to get married in this beautiful place.
