Col de Tende is closed to the south! The fact that the southern descent to France is closed is only apparent at the top of the pass. The Don Barbera Refugio is located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Marguareis under the Colle dei Signori. The Refugio is open from 06/15 to 10/15 unless otherwise required due to weather conditions, it has 45 beds in rooms and dormitories and offers food and beverages.

The Tenda hill, at an altitude of 1,871 metres, is renowned for its fortifications and the "road of 50 hairpin bends", which crosses the hill connecting the Vermenagna valley, in Italy, to the Roia valley, in France. The views here are beautiful!
