10월 14, 2025, Basilica di Sant'Antioco Martire
The Basilica of Sant'Antioco Martire, in the historic center of the island of the same name, is one of the oldest places of worship in Sardinia. Built between the 4th and 7th centuries over a Punic necropolis, it houses the relics of Sardinia's patron saint, a physician originally from Mauretania. The building, enlarged by the monks of Saint Victor of Marseille and remodeled in the Baroque period, preserves a complex complex of early Christian catacombs beneath the altar, which are still open to visitors.

The old village of Tratalias, built around the Romanesque church of S. Maria di Monserrato, was abandoned in 1971. With the construction of the dam on the Rio Palmas, and the resulting artificial lake of Monte Pranu, in the old Tratalias began to experience phenomena of infiltration, landslides, damage to buildings... Over 300 buildings were rebuilt on a nearby hill, considered safer from these phenomena, and the entire village was moved. The old village of Tratalias is still well cared for and maintained today, from the church to the various alleys, and also has some small commercial activities within it.

Very exposed to the winds but of great beauty, this cycle path between Sant'Antioco and Palmas is perfect for those who love to pedal in peace. Here you can enjoy the surrounding nature and spot numerous birds, including flamingos. The asphalt of the cycle path is also in excellent condition.

Beautiful traffic-free road offering stunning coastal scenery. Watch out for cracks in the road, some are large enough to fit a road bike wheel through.

Known locally as "Pontimannu", it is a splendidly preserved bridge of Roman origin (due to numerous restorations) which at the gates of Sant'Antioco connected the island with Sardinia. Unfortunately it is located in a not very happy spot, as the frequent traffic on the 126 makes it difficult to stop to admire it.

On the island you can visit the giants' tomb of Su Niu de su Crobu, a Phoenician tofet, several necropolises, the acropolis of Sant'Antioco and a Roman bridge. The town of Sant'Antioco also has a byssus museum, the Ferruccio Barreca archaeological museum, the Su Pisu fortress built in 1812 and the Basilica of Sant'Antioco Martire, built in the 11th century.
