A very fun and cool location. Refurbished from old objects and beautifully presented. Friendly staff. There's also a lawn for sunbathing, for example, swimming in the Aare.

The Aare-Beizli in Orpund is a good place for a bike break. However, it's worth checking the opening hours and what's on offer beforehand. There are regular events and culinary specials here. On Whit Monday 2025, these were strawberry waffles. Otherwise, there are Zahnderknusperli (sweet toothpaste) and hamburgers. And plenty of aperitif drinks. A lot of effort has gone into making the grounds beautiful, making the terrace a very pleasant place to sit.

Ref. Bürglen Church in Aegerten. The Bürglen Reformed Country Church, formerly St. Mary's Church, in the municipality of Aegerten in the Bernese Seeland was built on Roman foundations and was first mentioned in a document from 817. Its oldest preserved part is the south wall with the original windows from the Romanesque period. The church was enlarged several times before the Reformation and received its current appearance after the tower and choir were restored following the earthquake of 1621. The hall with the wooden barrel vault is furnished with the rich pulpit under the sounding board and the stained glass from 1904 by Clément Heaton. Cute trail. Always a nice starting point and soft trails, but still watch out for stones and roots.

For me it was a totally surprising moment, how the old Aare shows itself. Simply indescribably beautiful.

Narrow and heavily overgrown with nettles 😖 ouch. There are also several fallen trees lying across the trail at the moment.
