The Croda da Lago refuge is an alpine refuge located in the heart of the Ampezzo Dolomites, immersed in high-altitude pastures and surrounded by larches, mountain pines and stone pines. On 18 July 1948, following a contribution made by the Palmieri family in memory of their son who died during the war, it was renamed "Rifugio Gianni Palmieri at Croda da Lago". The Alfredo Sonino al Coldai refuge is located in the spectacular Val de le Ziolere, at the northern end of the majestic Civetta group. Usually open from mid-June to mid-September, it has 88 beds.
