Grappa peak with a 360° view

So many memories... and so many queues. Before the new tunnel, this was the only road connecting Valsugana with Feltre.

This section, which covers the eastern and western slopes of the Cereda Pass along the main road (SS347), is truly spectacular for its views. The climb to the Cereda Pass on the western slope is undoubtedly the toughest, with 7.9 km at an 8.2% gradient and several kilometers above 10%. Its final section, filled with twisters and alpine padrerias, is wonderful. The eastern slope from San Gosaldo has some very steep slopes but is much easier overall. However, if you consider the connection to the Forcella d'Aurine Pass, the climb becomes even more impressive.

After leaving the beautiful Lake Mis behind, the gorge narrows and the road gains a little height, passing through successive galleries and tunnels dug directly into the rock. It's a wonderful place that rivals the Sottoguda Gorge on the climb to Marmolada.

It's an exceptional gateway to the Dolomites, with calm, crystal-clear waters nestled between the mountains. A wonderful place with hardly any traffic.

I drove up from Cismon del Grappa because the original route via Incino was closed. The road surface on the alternative route is showing its age in places, but at least you have the road to yourself. Exciting 😉😁

Be careful that after the church the road climbs for 4 km with a constant gradient above 14/15% with higher peaks. Agile and well-trained ratios.
