Here, the mountain, men, and time have patiently paved the way. Suspended in the void, it offers superb panoramas of the Zermatt valley.

Possibility to stop for refreshments and overnight stays on the ascent or descent from the Domhütte... in reality, you usually just drink a beer and continue on - as in our case (climbing the Dom in August 2025).

Stone towers are often erected in the mountains as additional signposts or orientation points. Here in the forest, right next to the hiking trail, they hardly serve that function. Instead, there are a whole bunch of them, which is quite amusing to look at.

Beautiful little village on the first ascent of the Matterhorn tour starting from Saint Niklaus. Possibility to go there on foot but also by cable car. There is a restaurant, somewhere to sleep and a spot to sit down to eat with barbecue.

8월 30, 2024, Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge
The longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the Alps is almost 500 meters long and spans the Grabengufer from the Lärchberg to the Höüschbiel - at the highest point 85 m above the ground. Access is free and provides a thrill, as pedestrians walk on gratings through which they can see the valley floor. When it was built in 2017, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world.

The small, old wooden storehouses from days gone by are well preserved and bear witness to life in the Alps. They are beautifully situated on the edge of the mountain village of Randa.

8월 13, 2023, Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge
The 494m long Charles Kuonen suspension bridge is located above Randa and is part of the Europaweg, which leads from Grächen to Zermatt. But it can also be done as a round trip starting from the edge, but the ascent here should not be underestimated. Alternatively, there is the tour from the Täschalp via part of the Europaweg to the bridge and back to Randa.

The Charles Kuonen suspension bridge is the longest in Switzerland, with a length of 494 meters! It was built to avoid the danger of landslides. At the time of its inauguration in 2017, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, but it no longer holds this title. It's truly breathtaking! Many people also call it the "Europa bridge" because it is part of the Europaweg trail that connects Grächen to Zermatt. If you want to cross it during the summer, I recommend you go as early as possible as it gets very crowded, and for this reason it is not suitable for running. However, the trails on both sides of the bridge are soft and pass through woods, so running on them is a real pleasure.
