Monselice Castle is a complex of buildings composed of four main nuclei, plus a fortress, all built and renovated between the 11th and 16th centuries. The oldest part, on the right as you enter the main doorway into the Corte Grande, is the Castelletto, with the adjoining Romanesque house, built between the 11th and 12th centuries. On the left stands the massive 13th-century Ezzelino Tower. In the center, Palazzo Marcello was built in the 15th century as a connecting nucleus between the two existing buildings. At the top of the hill stands a fortress built by Ezzelino III da Romano on the orders of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia. Finally, the castle library, located on the large esplanade in front of the Ezzelino Tower, was created in a pre-existing building from the late 16th century.

Tough, constant, not to be taken head on. After the red house, it gives up a bit.

In Monselice, walking along the Via del Santuario, towards the Jubilee Sanctuary of the Seven Churches, you can see Villa Nani-Mocenigo on the left, a sumptuous late Renaissance building (late 16th, early 17th century) with a scenic perspective staircase. On the surrounding wall there are dwarves, sculptures that allude to the name of the patrician family that commissioned the villa. Facing them is the elegant stables building.

It is true. It's very hard. The initial part, let's say up to hairpin 5, gives no respite and is almost permanently above 15%. The first ramp just after the barrier and the one following hairpin bend 4 are particularly tough. Subsequently the slopes become slightly less ferocious, but never comfortable. Of particular note is the stretch between hairpin bend 10 and the next. By mnemonic rule, in the first part the hardest ramps are those after the even hairpin bends (those that turn left), while after those that turn right you can breathe. From the middle of the climb onwards this distinction also disappears. When going downhill, pay attention to the state of the asphalt (very damaged at the top) and the slope. For me one of the most challenging and beautiful routes in the Hills
