Small and pretty village in Ciociaria. The climb to access is about 7km at an average 4%, with several hairpin bends.

The houses that make up the village of Patrica seem to be artfully distributed on the steep rocky ridge of the Lepini Mountains, separated only by a dense network of alleys. The village is enchanting and illuminated by the lights of the evening it is so evocative that it resembles a small nativity scene. It is located at 450 m a.s.l.

The ascent to Monte Cacume is an excellent workout for those who want to improve their performance in both Trail and Trekking. The view of the Ciociaria and Agropontino from the top of the mountain is splendid.

Some believe that Caccume is mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the fourth canto of Purgatory in the Divine Comedy. «Go to Sanleo and descend to Noli, mounted on Bismantova and 'n Cacume with it the feet; but here it is better for them to fly;» (Dante, Purgatorio, canto IV, vv.25-27)

Monte Gemma is part of the Lepini Mountains, with a height of 1457m. Following the path n.23 you will reach an iron cross.

Interesting excursion starting from Patrica. From the Cacume car you can enjoy an excellent view of the surrounding panorama at 360 degrees, ranging from Mount Gemma to the Sacco valley.
