One of the examples of fortified Italian architecture from the late Middle Ages.[2] The fortress was built by incorporating an ancient place of worship dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, founded in the Lombard era (8th-9th centuries), called Sant'Angelo di Flea. The Rocca Flea is home to the Gualdo Tadino Civic Museum, which houses the local antiquarium, and its rooms display examples of historic Gualdo Tadino ceramics.

Very steep section leading straight to the top & the santuario. The path is almost invisible at first (start straight up from the signage, head towards the lone tree half way up and trust Komoot to mark the path exactly, after 50-100 meters you will find yourself on the right path). You walk here on the crest of the mountain, so it can be windy and get cold quickly.

Wonderful, scenic & serene place

Ik heb de naam van de vallei niet gevonden (Valsorda ligt aan de noordkant van de Monte Serrasanta). And as we went on the far way, he said to me: "This valley is blessed from God and from nature and from human work, which has done so much choice here of saints and poets and warriors who make this land another destination". And so we came to the end of the paths, where you can see Assisi and its splendor, and I thanked my good sir. And I said: "O my father, I see love in this valley and in these pious people, which makes this place a great value". And he to me: "Son, you are well away; now go, and bring the news to the world of this valley that has no envy".
