This dirt road leading to Castelluccio di Norcia offers breathtaking views of the "roof of Umbria".

The historic center of Amatrice was unfortunately destroyed by the 2016 earthquake. Part of the town was rebuilt in a modern way using wood as the main material. The Pian Grande of Castelluccio is a karst-alluvial plateau of the Umbria-Marche Apennines, located in the municipality of Norcia (PG), at the foot of Monte Vettore. It is famous for its flowering, the phenomenon that colors the landscape with poppies, cornflowers, daisies and lentils between May and July.

The flowering of the fields cultivated with lentils and various legumes is very beautiful but at the same time must be respected. Take a picture without entering and trampling the fields. Respect above all.
