Beautiful mountain road, in the heart of the Cilento National Park

It's great in itself, but no panoramic view is possible because it's quite overgrown.

Santa Maria di Castellabate is a village that rises on the slopes of Colle Sant'Angelo between the towns of Lago and San Marco. Located in the lower part of the town of Castellabate and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Santa Maria not only falls entirely within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park but is also home to the beautiful Marine Protected Area of Santa Maria di Castellabate. The hamlet was originally known as "Castellabate Marina" or "Castellabate Inferiore" and its history is deeply linked to that of the city of Castellabate which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Morning ride

The summit of Monte Stella reaches 1131 meters in height, houses a sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna della Stella and also large antennas and a radar sphere. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole Cilento area and the sea.

Equipped area along the ascent path to Monte Stella. There are many tables for picnics and a fountain to fill water bottles or cool off. On foot it is less than 2 km from Casal Soprano, it can also be reached by car from a narrow and very steep road.
