Elephant Stone

8 km from Valledoria - The northern provinces of Sassari and Tempio-Olbia are rich in thermal and mineral water springs, which were already famous and important in Roman times. Compared to the pretty historic center of Castelsardo, this square somehow seems too modern and cool. But if you want to go up to the old town, there is almost no way around it.

Castelsardo is a fascinating medieval village. Visiting the historic center under the fortress is certainly worth it, even if the climb up the stairs can be a bit tiring. The town, traditionally fishermen, is known for the art of basket weaving. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the hamlet at the top of the hill in the distance.
