A spectacular area in the heart of the Supramonte. It is the most spectacular canyon in Europe, as well as one of the deepest. Gorropu is a 1.5-kilometer-long erosive gorge, marking the border between the Barbagia territory of Orgosolo and the Ogliastra territory of Urzulei. It has been shaped over time by the force of the Flumineddu River that flows along its bottom, fed by waters that flow through the Supramonte, partly infiltrating underground tunnels and partly resurfacing from springs downstream from the gorge. The stream has eroded the limestone rock to form the canyon.

After the moderately challenging climb, the landscape opens up to the plateau. Simply beautiful. We had a picnic here and watched the sheep grazing, their bells ringing.

Absolutely great route for biking

The description says black with carrying units. Advanced riding technique. That's exactly what the route is about. If you're looking for enduro, you'll find it on the route. Please be considerate of the hikers! Otherwise, have fun!

Thank you very much for this great tour! The contradictions in the reviews helped me to want to experience it for myself. For me personally, it was an all-inclusive bike tour, basically the complete bike adventure that I look for in the mountains (M=Mountain). For me, a technical bike tour makes sense if I can manage the route faster and more fun on the bike than on foot. That is definitely the case here! In addition to a few places that are not rideable for me and my sports equipment, there are lots of mega-flowing passages. Mind you, this only applies to me, my bike and my skills! If someone says that this has nothing to do with mountain biking, you could reply that a free climber has nothing to do with climbing either. Unfortunately, people often confuse their own abilities and fears with the general, sober assessment of a tour. The facts are important, that's what the S grades are for. Then everyone has to decide for themselves whether they can do it and want to take the risk.

From the Pradu pass, at 1,220 metres, a spectacular panorama opens up over the plateau and the vast limestone expanses of the wild Supramonte. Turning your gaze south, you clearly see the path that leads to Mount Corrasi.
