Massa Martana is a medieval village in the heart of the Martani Mountains and surrounded by luxuriant woods. The municipal area is crossed by the ancient Via Flaminia and is rich in finds from the Roman era and churches.

Santa Maria in Pantano is a Romanesque church located near Massa Martana, along the Via Flaminia. It is one of the oldest and most interesting churches in Umbria, built between the 7th and 8th centuries on top of a pre-existing Roman building.
