Perched on a rocky outcrop and accessible via a charming stone bridge, Il Borro is a perfectly restored medieval village that seems suspended in time. Today, it houses artisan workshops and an excellent organic farm, representing one of the most elegant and characteristic stops in the Valdarno.

In the remains of the old castle walls there is this beautiful door that leads into the Vicolo dei Palchi (alley of the palaces). This gate, however, is not contemporary with the walls, but much more recent. It was probably opened in the nineteenth century to facilitate access to this part of the city.
