Lake Fiastra, like many of the lakes in central Italy, is of anthropic origin. It was formed following the damming of the Fiastrone river. It is the ideal place to enjoy a hot summer day away from the crowded beaches of the Conero.

Lake Fiastra is an artificial basin built in the 1950s to obtain electricity. Its dam is 85 meters high. It is the largest hydroelectric basin in the Marche region. The basin is suitable for swimming, in summer it is crowded with both relaxation, water sports and fishing. The territory is crossed by the GRANDE RING DEI SIBILLINI HIKING ROUTE which winds for over 120 km in the National Park in 9 stages.

The sanctuary of Blessed Ugolino is the remnant of an ancient Benedictine monastery, which depended on the abbey of Ferentillo and was originally dedicated to St. John the Baptist. After the death of Blessed Ugolino da Fiegni, a Franciscan hermit of the fourteenth century, his body was buried here and the church changed its name and became a destination for popular devotion.

The Callarelle waterfall, fed by the Ussita torrent (a tributary of the Nera river), is a beautiful and large waterfall, with a large flow of water.

Here the ancient church of Santa Maria Assunta (Gothic style built in the 14th century and restored in 1915) is remarkable. The church was the center of worship for 22 chapels and churches in the area. The church is currently unusable after the earthquake that hit the Umbria-Marche area in 1997.
