Splendid view from a strategic point on Lake Caccamo, an artificial lake that takes its waters from the Chienti river. You are in Pietrafavera, a small village overlooking the lake which also houses a castle.

The Buca del Terremoto, created by the 1799 earthquake between Monte di Colleluce and Monte San Pacifico, is an enormous almost circular chasm, about 50 meters wide and 20 meters deep, presumably caused by the collapse of an underground cave. It is an imposing and truly unique place. It is possible to go all the way down, although it can be a bit dangerous.

Statte Castle is an ancient fortification located on the slopes of Monte Letegge. It was built in the 12th century by the Bonifazi counts to control the Chienti and Potenza valleys. In the 16th century it was abandoned and dismantled, and is now being restored.
